That Brown Bag is a Buffalo-based minority business directory and ecosystem platform founded in 2018 by Shantelle Patton, built to amplify, connect, and position Black and minority-owned businesses for greater visibility, access, and economic opportunity across Western New York and beyond. More than a directory, That Brown Bag offers business owners tools including LLC formation services, MWBE certification guidance, vendor experience management, and a growing supplier diversity platform called BBX: The Brown Bag Exchange, designed to connect minority businesses to customers, corporations, and community partners. Businesses can get listed via Community or Signature listings starting at $99.99, and shoppers can support the ecosystem through the Culture Currency Card, a digital gift card redeemable at participating Brown Bag businesses throughout the Buffalo area.
